Located on the second floor overlooking Dewi Sita Street, Night Rooster is Locavore’s new bar that offers a welcoming setting decorated using recycled wood in an airy yet intimate 40 seat space. The bar serves imaginatively fashioned cocktails prepared by talented young Balinese mixologist who combine the finest of spirits and add local fruits, herbs, vegetables, spices and smoke (yes I did say smoke!)
Just to wet the adventurous appetite ‘pigshare’ is a mixture of tree-ripened mangos, passion fruit, mango blossom and raw honey mixed with spices, rum and house made ginger beer and served in a tiki glass giving it an unusual delicious sweet and sour flavour. For those that don’t feel that they are ‘quite there’ yet you might like to try ‘Almost There’ with its combination of tamarillo, kemangi leaves, raw honey bourbon, rum and mint leaves, creating a fresh blend of kemangi flavours and a whole host of other sensational quixotic tastes. The range of drinks is inspiring and, as I said, even smoking – ‘Into the Wild’ is served with a fragrantly steaming aromatherapy pot.
To accompany the drinks, Night Rooster offers delicious light bites such as toasties, cheese platters and meatballs. The tomato & cheese toasty is a tasty homemade toast with tomato chutney, goat cheese, basil leaves and heirloom tomato giving a sweet, creamy taste of crunchy goodness.
