Donatella Versace welcomed guests to the newly opened Palazzo Versace Macau with a Grand Opening event that celebrated the luxury hotel’s unique blend of iconic Versace design with the traditions of Macau.
The Grand Opening event was an embrace of the hotel’s synergy between Versace’s luxury lifestyle and the culture, entertainment, and cuisine of Macau. A majestic dragon installation atop the Romanesque columns of the hotel’s outdoor pool area greeted guests at the opening reception in a celebration of both the Year of the Dragon in 2024 and the hotel’s signature dragon motif. Guests passed through the Jardim Secreto where renowned harpist, Yu Dan and the quintet from Macau Orchestra gave musical performances, before entering The Grand Pavilion for Versace Signatures, a curated display of iconic Atelier Versace and Versace ready-to-wear designs that were shared with guests a unique perspective on the recurring signatures at the heart of the House’s fashion design. The evening concluded with a banquet dinner of Chinese cuisine accompanied by traditional entertainment, such as a drum performance by a group of young talents from Macau, followed by a surprise music performance from world-renowned musician, John Legend. Guests in attendance included celebrities Austin Lin, Chang Huasen, K-pop star Ok Taec-yeon, and many more.
Palazzo Versace Macau is the first Palazzo Versace luxury hotel in Asia, and the second worldwide following Palazzo Versace Dubai. The hotel is situated within one of the three towers of the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau and offers 271 rooms and suites across 12 floors. Interior design is evocative of an Italian Palazzo, and Versace’s Milanese heritage and signature flair are immediately evident. Codes of the House including the Medusa, geometric Greca motif, and Barocco print are each rendered in alternate craft finishes throughout. A design expression unique to Palazzo Versace Macau interplays this Italianate aesthetic with symbols rooted in local Chinese custom the chrysanthemum flower and an ornate dragon, which feature throughout the hotel. Amenities include two Italian restaurants, a wellness retreat, a personal training studio, and indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
Enhancing the appeal of Palazzo Versace Macau is its accessibility. Air Macau operates direct flights from Jakarta to Macau every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday, providing a convenient travel option. For travelers from Jakarta, there are also flights available to Hong Kong via Cathay Pacific and Garuda Indonesia. The flight duration from Jakarta to Hong Kong is approximately 4 hours and 45 minutes, landing at Terminal 1 of Hong Kong Airport. From there, travelers can opt for a private car service or take the ferry directly from the Hong Kong International Airport to Macau. This service departs 3 times a week every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday at 12:30 PM. There are also many daily ferries from Sheung Wan.
