Marriott International Business Council Bali, consisting of 20 hotels in Bali, hosted the 2nd Annual Marriott International Charity Golf Day on April 13, 2019. A large gathering of sponsors, partners and eager golfers descended on the beautiful bukit to enjoy a fun, competitive event. Hosted at New Kuta Golf Club in Pecatu, Bali, the sponsored tournament raised funds to benefit Bali Children Foundation, a foundation that provides an educational pathway for disadvantaged Balinese children – a journey leading to growth and long term sustainability.
“We are excited to have the 2nd annual charity golf tournament this year,” said Brad Edman, General Manager of Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa and Chairman of Marriott International Business Council for Indonesia. “Our brands and partners have shown overwhelming support for this cause, and we are excited to help raise awareness and funds for Bali Children Foundation and help the children of Bali.
Perfect Balinese weather welcomed a sell-out field of golfers and supporters as they gathered to “Play for Children”. Organized in conjunction with Par 5 Club, Bali’s leading social golf club, the golf tournament is part of an annual campaign to raise funds to promote and support educational programs and scholarship funds for youth in Bali. Marriott International hotels sponsored all holes on the course with food, drinks, live music and entertainment. Pete Manuel, Chairman of Par 5 Club Bali was quoted saying ‘This is by far the biggest golf day in Indonesia, and brings together the business community to support the children of Bali. We thank the Marriott Business Council Bali for all their amazing support and partnership”.
The event, which was followed by a gala awards dinner at Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa, raised over IDR 420,000,000 in funds to be donated directly to the Bali Children Foundation.
“The tournament committee would like to thank the tournament’s main sponsors Two Islands, Luxury Escapes and Tropicola, for their generous support and contribution in making this event a huge success” added Oliver Key, the Managing Director of The St. Regis Bali Resort & The Laguna, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa
