W Bali – Seminyak has announced the appointment of their new Culinary Director, Richard Bias. Born in the United Kingdom, Richard has received numerous achievements and accolades including Runner-Up for the Gordon Ramsay Scholarship 2001, a finalist in the Academy Culinary Arts Awards of Excellence 2000 and numerous medals at Salon Culinaire’s in Dubai and London.
As the new Culinary Director, Richard Bias oversees all the hotel’s dining venues being responsible for the modern grill FIRE, pan Asian restaurant Starfish Bloo, sunset spot Woobar, the W Lounge and the 24/7 In-Room Dining services. He brings his expertise along with new, pioneering ideas to the table, creating innovative menus for a true W dining experience. He will be introducing a series of new a la carte menus to be served at FIRE starting from February 2018 onwards. Samples from the new menus were exclusively previewed to the local media in December 2017 including batik lobster wonton, oxtail, mushroom, red wine shallots, lightly cured Hamachi, sunflower seed risotto crème fraiche, charred onions, goats cheese churros and truffle honey just to name a few..
