In early 2021, Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh is scheduled to open in the Cambodian capital, marking the brand’s first venture into one of the most vibrant cities in Asia. The new contemporary-meets-colonial property, with 247 guestrooms including 43 suites, is scheduled to open in January 2021 in the heart of the Doun Penh district of Phnom Penh, with the hotel website currently taking bookings from Jan. 15, 2021 onwards.
The hotel’s centerpiece is a beautifully renovated French heritage building known as the Colonial House, conceived by award-winning, Singapore-based SCDA Architects and Thailand-based PIA Interior. Rumoured to have been designed in the early 1900s as a royal residence for a princess, the architects went to great lengths to restore the villa, which now serves as the main entrance and lobby of the house. The hotel’s interiors, meanwhile will reflect the rich heritage of Cambodia, seamlessly mixing Khmer architectural accents, French colonial elements, and specially commissioned artworks by FONKi, a contemporary Cambodian artist.
Guests can choose from five dining venues, including The Attic, an old-world speakeasy-style bar that sits tucked away in the eaves of the Colonial Building, as well as a beautiful open-plan indoor/outdoor dining concept called FiveFive Rooftop Restaurant & Bar, where diners can enjoy Instagram-worthy views of the Phnom Penh skyline along with refreshing cocktails and vibrant DJ performances. Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh’s amenities include an outdoor tropical infinity pool, a 24-hour fitness center, a conference and function area of 1,400 square meters, including the Regency Ballroom. A world-class spa, Jivapita Spa, will also be available at the hotel, offering a range of bespoke body and facial treatments. There is also access to the Regency Club Lounge, which includes daily breakfast, evening canapés and drinks, as well as a private terrace for guests staying on the hotel’s club floor.
Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh is committed to ensuring the highest level of health and safety compliance when the hotel opens early next year. The property will operate in accordance with Hyatt’s Global Care and Cleanliness Commitment to reimagine all touchpoints of the guest experience to provide a safe environment.
