Launched in early October 2019, Uni Restaurant & Bar is the first restaurant bringing together the efforts of Urchin’s former star chef Steven Skelly and drinks guru Nicholas Lento. The food is a blend of Asian inspiration and contemporary techniques using locally sourced seafood and vegetables, which are served with Japanese and French influences in a modern style. The menu is a foray through Japanese flavours and sophisticated dishes to match its equally sophisticated, and rather unusual, tipple.

Open for dinner from 6.00 pm to 10.30 pm; Uni then remains open until late for drinks. There are two menu options to choose from; the A la Carte menu which features snacks such as Tartare Cone and Urchin Maki; Entres such as Scallop Crudo and Seared Hamachi; Mains such as Roasted Grouper and Seared Tuna and Desserts such as Vanilla Panna Cotta and Passion Fruit Souffle. Alternatively, you may select the 5-course tasting menu or the 5-course vegetarian tasting menu featuring selections that are infused with Asian- inspired flavours.

To complement or pair with each dish, the restaurant offers an impressive array of sake and low proof cocktails, as well as the chance to choose to match your dinner to different teas rather than the traditional wine. Creative cocktails are in abundance, including concoctions of gin mixed with lemon, peach, rosewater and aromatic coconut, and a blend of Sherry Campari, Sherry, clarified strawberry and pickle juice.
