Time To Renew at Chiva-Som

Situated in Hua Hin, Thailand, Chiva-Som, a pioneer and transformative wellness destination invites guests to reset body, mind and spirit with its Art of Detox retreat. The 5- to 14-night personalised programme focuses on optimising the body’s natural detoxification processes after the indulgences of the festive season. Coupled with a visiting practitioner programme covering a range of specialisations, from neuromuscular therapy to help eliminate toxins, to coaching to find new confidence for a new year, January at Chiva-Som is an opportunity to revitalise and embrace the year ahead with renewed energy and mental clarity.

While the body naturally flushes out toxins, the increasingly fast-paced, over-stimulated lives we lead makes it more difficult for the body to maintain balance. The Art of Detox retreat gives guests the tools to refresh the digestive system, leading to improved digestion, weight loss, better immunity, clearer skin, a calmer mind and newfound energy. Guided by an expert team, the retreat is designed to educate and support guests in discovering their ideal diet. A balance of macro- and micro-nutrients, along with herbal and nutritional supplements, brings the digestive and metabolic systems back to their optimal function. The programme also consists of detoxifying treatments such as lymphatic drainage, colonic hydrotherapy and balneotherapy to aid the process.

To further support guests’ wellness goals this January, Chiva-Som is also welcoming four world-leading health consultants. Residencies include:
Neuromuscular Therapy & Corrective Bodywork by Stephen Kirwin (Until 20 January)
For over two decades, Stephen Kirwin has performed neuromuscular and orthopaedic sports massage for the world’s top athletes, including Ironman champions Scott Tinley and Dave Scott, and members of Lance Armstrong’s Tour de France cycling team. Utilising a unique blend of structural integration, myofascial release, trigger-point therapy and craniosacral therapy, his deep tissue release and bodywork help eliminate the toxins held within the muscles.
Total Kinesiology by Dr. Greg Shiu (15-30 January)
Kinesiology uses muscle testing as a primary feedback mechanism to examine how the body is functioning, seeking to treat the cause rather than the symptom. By combining joint manipulation, myofascial therapies, cranial techniques, meridian therapy, nutritional and dietary management, Dr. Shiu helps treat joint pain, digestive issues, hormone imbalances, sleep disruption and more.
Hypnotherapy & Executive Coaching by Dr. Anthony Augustine (21-31 January)
Dr. Augustine has spent years helping individuals develop greater self-awareness and let go of negative emotions, phobias, fears, limiting beliefs, and all that is no longer serving a useful purpose. Past clients include CEOs, celebrities, members of parliament, royalty and professional athletes.

Yoga Therapy by Jonas Westring (26 January – 22 February)
The founder of Shantaya Physio & Yoga Therapy, Jonas Westring is experienced in a multitude of healing modalities, including yoga, physiotherapy and contemporary mind-body science, which he has taught around the world for over 30 years. Welcoming each person in their current state, he guides them toward optimal wellbeing, creating increased mind-body awareness and guiding them away from habits that limit their full potential.
