I Wayan Gunayasa’s photographic skills have taken him from a hobby through to the professional level of photographic art and an inspirational ability to capture the rich culture of Bali with his work. Widely acknowledged these days, Wayan Gunayasa has hosted several exhibitions and his works have been published in prominent magazines.
Nature and culture have become a passion for I Wayan Gunayasa and it with these subjects that his art has succinctly emphasised some of the pause and character aspects that are often missed by the casual observer.
For three years this Karangasem-born photographer has been able to capture impressive moments of Balinese dance rituals. He has managed to draw out with shade and lines for a deeper representation of his dancing subject’s persona. Patience and timing have allowed for some spellbinding scenic shots on Bali where this resource abounds for a good photographer.
I Wayan Gunayasa dreams that one day he will open his own gallery and so allow himself to concentrate on his art while exposing more integral themes of Bali’s culture.
