Seated on the side of Petitenget area, a couple of meters before the entrance to Batubelig, Papagayo is one of the recommended culinary selections in Seminyak. Heralding itself as a Brazillian BBQ Churrascaria, Papagayo wants to introduce the South American ways of eating to Bali’s visitors and culinary enthusiasts; Churrascaria, or often referred as Churrasco, actually translates to ‘Barbecue’. There is a unique cultural service method for this fare. Passadores (meat waiters) come to the table with knives and a skewer, on which are speared certain kinds of meat. In Papagayo, this service becomes an experience for diners. The restaurant ‘churrasco’ menu offers 11 different kinds of grilled meat, from pork ribs, pork belly, sausage, to the special ‘picanha’, which is a prime cut of mouth-watering beef sirloin, best savored hot. This satisfying package comes with three selections of side dishes and dessert consisting of grilled fruit with delish caramel-topped vanilla ice cream.

For those who prefer a la carte, Papagayo also serves a range of tasty Brazilian-styled meals; such as tender and crisp coxinha balls, fresh diced ‘ceviche’ mahi-mahi, to feijoada—a plate of black bean and pork stew goodness served with onion and butter rice.
