Hyatt Expands in Malaysia with a Vibrant New Hotel Launching in Q4 2024

A launchpad for savvy explorers, the first edition of Hyatt Centric in Peninsula Malaysia will offer guests an insider’s guide to navigating the city like locals.

Nestled in the middle of Malaysia’s bustling capital, Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur will join the city’s skyline towards the end of the year. Located around the corner from the iconic KLCC Twin Towers and a stone’s throw away from KL Tower, the 21-storey luxury hotel is the first of Hyatt Centric brand in Peninsula Malaysia and the second in the country owned by Hap Seng Consolidated Bhd after Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu.
Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur designed by Silverfox Studios aims to inspire urban explorers to experience the city’s blend of modern and traditional influences. The hotel’s convenient location in the heart of the action connects guests to hiking spots like KL Eko-Rimba Park, the shopping district of the Golden Triangle, and a myriad of bars and restaurants that house cuisines from all over the world.

The hotel will feature a mix of 312 rooms, thoughtfully-designed open spaces, and three unique dining concepts that draw inspiration from the melting pot of cultures that pulse throughout Kuala Lumpur. From bold lines and earth tones to the striking art of local graffiti artist, Jefr, whose original work adorns the streets of Kuala Lumpur and beyond, Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur pays homage to the city’s evolution from a tin mining town to a bustling metropolis.
The three dining experiences that will be offered in the hotel are IL Forno — a true Italian trattoria featuring fresh, handmade pastas and pizzas perfect for one or many, TanBuri — a casual dining concept that serves authentic Tandoori dishes in donburi style, and @21 — a scenic rooftop pool bar and lounge offering signature drinks with a local twist. Helmed by Executive Chef Vincenzo Carbone and Director of Food & Beverage Operations Davide Brescianini, each of these concepts will present an uncomplicated menu of authentic flavors and inventive dishes to draw people close and encourage genuine connections.

“We wanted to do something different and take what we love most in Kuala Lumpur and share them with our guests in a fun, more engaging way. We are your kawan, your local bestie to co-create shareable moments through our diverse hotel offerings that capture the life of the community around us,” said Chikako Shimizu, General Manager of Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur. “Our hotel will offer our guests everything they need to relax and recharge before they head out to explore the city. We want them to feel comfortable to experience what it’s like to be a local in this city and ignite a sense of curiosity to visit places not usually listed on tourist maps.”
