Food Meets Street Art at AYA STREET

A well designed and comfortable interior features a carefully curated selection of street artwork displayed on the walls to give an interesting atmosphere that is sure to attract a discerning diner’s attention.

Aya Street specialises in Peruvian fusion cuisine blending influences from Peru’s indigenous Inca people with elements introduced by Asian migrants with a focus on Peruvian-Japanese (Nikkei) and Peruvian-Chinese (Chifa) fusion. The kitchen uses fresh, Balinese produce sourced from local growers to give an Indonesian twist.

At Aya Street, the food is casual and created to be shared. I sampled a wonderful 5-course meal that is served in smaller portions. The meal started with fish soup, followed by Leche De Tigre (calamari and ceviche), tasty and uniquely presented. This was followed by another delicious dish, Tuna Nikkei (tuna and avocado with mashed potato). Then came the main course of Quinoa Risotto (fish with risotto) which consists of fresh fish topped off with grilled asparagus, scallops and drizzled with a creamy sauce. Then finally, to finish off, a very satisfying chocolate dessert consisting of 5 chocolate truffles.

To accompany their interesting menu, Aya Street also offers a selection of cocktails ranging from traditional Pisco-based temptations through to contemporary creations and classic favourites.

I recommend the spicy coconut mojito; it has a bit kick from the chilli which blends perfectly with coconut creating an interesting and very refreshing drink. I suspect that, once sampled, you’ll come back wanting more.
