Concert for Komodo
Kuta Beach, Bali 30th July, 2011

To support ‘Komodo: The Real Wonder of the World’, a spectacular concert took place on 30 July, 2011 at Kuta Beach, Bali. The concert
featured some of the best artists in the Indonesian music industry such as Dwiki & World Peace Ensemble, Ivan Nestorman, Sandhy Sondoro,
Dira Sugandi, Marcell and other Friends of Komodo. This event was organised by Marketeers and KompasTV as an initiative from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The event was aimed to raise international public awareness to participate in preserving the Komodo Dragons and the conservation programs.

Bali was chosen as the venue for this event because Bali acts as the Hub that connects travellers to Komodo National Park. For those who are interested to take a closer look at Komodo, they have to fly to Bali first before continuing the journey to Labuan Bajo in Flores and then taking a boat to the Komodo National Park.

This free concert certainly drew lots of spectators from local people, domestic as well as international tourists who happened to be on holiday in Bali. A successful event for a great cause!
