At Puri Agung Peliatan 19 – 21 June, 2011

Between 19th & 21st June, 2011, a special event took place at Puri Agung Peliatan featuring several Balinese Dance Maestros and their successors. The objective of this event was to preserve the Classical Balinese Dances and this was the last time that all the maestros would perform with their successors in front of an audience.

The dance Maestros who performed were Ida Bagus Oka Wirjana, I Gusti Ayu Raka Rasmi,
Ni Luh Menek, I Ketut Muji, I Nyoman Raos, Ni Ketut Kerti, and Jero Made Puspawati. Unfortunately, another maestro Ibu Jero
Gadung Arwati was not available so Ayu Made Barali Pundara Warsini was her replacement
for performing at this event.

Each day they presented two shows that featured the maestros with their successors. It was a very successful occasion. High appreciation was shown to all the Balinese Dance Maestros who have been successfully
maintaining and preserving the Classical Balinese Dances. This event drew many spectators from all levels of society.
